SOURCENEXT Corporation (Headquarters: Shiodome City Center 33F, 1-5-2 Shimbashi Minato-ku, Tokyo;CEO and President: Noriyuki Matsuda) announced today that from October 5th, they have begun providing the Android app, "MOKUGEKI Camera (Drive Recorder)" to Softbank’s monthly app subscription service, "App Pass". The "MOKUGEKI Camera (Drive Recorder)" is a high performance drive recorder app which allows users to use the device camera to take records of their voyages and capture important moments such as in the case of accidents. With this addition, SOURCENEXT now have a total of 27 apps which they have provided to the "App Pass" service.

[About the "MOKUGEKI Camera (Drive Recorder)"]
The "MOKUGEKI Camera (Drive Recorder)" is based on the "DailyRoads Voyager" app, developed by the development company DailyRoads, (based in U.K.), with some minor changes made for the Japanese market. The app turns an ordinary smartphone camera into a high quality drive recorder application that can record video in HQ (High Quality) mode with high quality resolutions equal to that of high spec drive recorders. It also comes equipped with an impact sensor which allows you to capture and save important footages such as in the case of a car accident.

[Key Features of the "MOKUGEKI Camera (Drive Recorder)"]
■High Quality Videos
By using the "HQ Mode" you can get high quality / high performance video recordings similar to that of high spec drive recorders. If users are worried about their device’s remaining disk space, there is also an option for adjusting the resolution of the videos (NOTE: the resolutions available for selecting may differ depending on devices).
■Automatically Record on Sudden Impact
If a sudden impact is detected, the app automatically saves the movies recorded before and after the impact so that in case of an accident, you can be sure that the important footages are kept for use as evidence.
■ Allow App to run in Background
You can also allow the app to run in the background, bringing other apps to the foreground while recording videos.
With this, you can record and carry out the below activities:
- Open and check Map applications
- Use music player apps
■ "Overheat Prevention" Feature for Added Safety
The app comes equipped with a feature for automatically carrying out necessary changes (adjustments) when the smartphone’s device temperature gets too high. For example, if the battery temperature reaches the configured threshold, the app carries out necessary changes such as –turn off the GPS feature, change the video quality –to prevent overheating.
[About the "App Pass"]
The "App Pass" is an app subscription service offered by Softbank which provides a wide range of popular apps (total value of 50,000 yen worth) as an "all you can download" app download service to Softbank smartphone users (excluding certain 4G smartphone users) for a monthly fee of 370 yen per month (tax not included).
