(Retail Price: Open price).

[About the Background to the Release]
The "Livescribe wifi smartpen" was developed in California, USA and Sourcenext started to sell it in Japan this April, which was covered by a wide variety of media and attracted interest. As numerous users requested, we revised the user manual for users to understand more easily and expanded to retailers in Japan starting today. This is the first time that the "Livescribe wifi smartpen" is available at Japanese retailers.
[What is the "Livescribe wifi smartpen"?]
The "Livescribe wifi smartpen" captures everything consumers write and hear. To playback the audio, they simply tap their handwritten notes with their smartpen and the audio will replay from that exact moment in time. The audio and handwritten notes recorded are also uploaded to Evernote automatically and customers can refer to the audio and notes from their computer, tablet and smartphone. The "Livescribe 2GB wifi smartpen" itself can store around 200 hours of audio and approximately 20,000 pages of written notes.
Livescribe smartpens have received many awards, including the 2012 "Editor’s Choice Award" from Laptop Magazine (USA) along with many additional prestigious awards and accolades.
With the "Livescribe wifi smartpen", people don’t have to choose between writing on paper and writing on a computer or tablet –they can have the best of both worlds. It is an ideal companion to a laptop or tablet. [Works with Evernote]
Any content created and captured with the "Livescribe wifi smartpen" wirelessly syncs to Evernote as a new searchable and shareable note. Once in Evernote, customers can easily play back their handwritten notes and synchronized audio, called "pencasts," through the web-based Livescribe Player. Customers can start at the beginning of a "pencast," or jump directly to a specific point in time just by clicking on a specific word or portion of a drawing.

In addition to reviewing "pencasts" on their computers and mobile devices, consumers can also:

The "Livescribe wifi smartpen" works with both Evernote (free) and Evernote Premium and can be linked to new or existing Evernote accounts. The "Livescribe wifi smartpen" includes an additional 500MB of monthly upload capacity (up to 70 hours of recording time) for content created with the smartpen.
